Linda Villarosa is a journalist and educator. She is writing a book for Doubleday on race, inequality and health runs the journalism program at the City College of New York in Harlem.

Her April New York Times Magazine cover story revealed that Black mothers and infants in the United States are more than twice as likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than their white counterparts. She believes this disparity is tied intrinsically to the lived experience of being black in America.
